
2,500 students of Bănățean National College, one of the most prestigious high schools in Timișoara, with 250 years of history, will benefit from a renovated canteen thanks to an investment of 70,000 euros by Restart Energy
Bucharest, Timisoara, 6 November 2023: Restart Energy announces the completion of its latest social involvement project, the complete renovation, with its own funds, of the canteen of Banățean National College, one of the most prestigious high schools in Timișoara. The investment in construction, planning and interior design works amounts to 70,000 euros.
The Bănățean National College, which accommodates 2,500 students, is located in a historic building, created by the Viennese architect Eduard Reiter, and has operated as an educational institution since its inception, since 1773.

The modernization work on the canteen lasted three months and included both complex construction work (changing the circuit, replacing the electrical, water and heating systems, replacing the plaster, radiators, electrical systems, tiles, etc.), and the design and fitting out of the interiors, the interventions were coordinated by a team of architects and a team of interior designers.
Over time, Restart Energy has supported various projects in the field of education, such as providing scholarships, equipping schools with modern technologies or supporting the ZGRIPTOR project, which won second prize at the NASA Space Settlement Competition in the United States.

About Banățean National College Timisoara
The Bănățean National College, which accommodates 2500 students, is located in a historic building, created by the Viennese architect Eduard Reiter, and has operated as an educational institution since its inception, since 1773.
Thus, between the years 1773 and 1880, the «Trivium» elementary school operated here, next to the parish, in the Losefin neighborhood. Between 1881 and 1890, the «Notre Dame» Sisters’ School also operated in parallel with the Elementary School. In 1931, with the establishment of the high school course, the institution became the «Notre Dame» Roman Catholic girls’ high school.
With the education reform of 1948, the Roman Catholic girls’ high school «Notre Dame» became the girls’ pedagogical school. Since 1956 the new name is Secondary School n. 7 Timisoara.
In 1961, a German section and a Hungarian section of Secondary School No. 7. The first one still functions today, and the Hungarian one was separated with the establishment of the “Bela Bartok” High School. Between 1965 and 1973 the institute operated under the name of Secondary School n. 10 Timisoara.
Since 1973 it has been called Liceo Real-Humanista n. 1 Timișoara and in 1977 the institute became the Philological-Historical High School of Timișoara.
