Bucharest, Timisoara, June 2024. Agrovoltaics, a company of the Restart Energy group,
signs a connection contract with Transelectrica worth 56 million lei, in
after which more than 200,000 families in Romania will receive green energy.
The agreement represents another important milestone in the development of a photovoltaic power park
installed capacity of 500 MW which will be located in the city of Şimand, Arad county.
The photovoltaic park is the second largest in Romania and will be financed by the US Exim Bank
through the American fund Interlink Capital Strategies in Washington DC. Restart power a
received a letter of interest from US Exim Bank for $380 million in financing
of the project.
To support the financing deal, the company plans to use technology

energy produced by TESLA, with a capacity of 1 GWh. Restart energy management estimates
begin construction in the second quarter of 2025 and complete the project by December 31.
It is estimated that this action will generate more than 300 new jobs in the coming years.
«This project is strategic and strengthens Restart Energy’s position on the energy market
green in the region. The photovoltaic park contributes to environmental protection, both through its impact
negatively reduced, as well as replacing existing polluting capacities that use fossil fuels.
We are proud to contribute significantly to Romania’s transition towards renewable energy»,
says Armand Domuța, CEO and founder of Restart Energy.
The photovoltaic park will produce over 800,000 MWh per year and will contribute to reducing emissions
of carbon with around 400,000 tonnes per year, respectively 12 million tonnes of CO2 avoided
over the life of the project, which means that the environmental benefits are worth more than 1
billions of dollars. The European Union is making constant efforts to achieve the objectives set out in the Paris Agreement on climate change, with the ultimate goal of providing clean energy in
the entire European Union.
Through the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan 2021-2030 (PINEP), Romania
proposes to develop new energy capacities from renewable sources to achieve the goal of
30.7% of renewable energy in the national energy mix. According to INECP, projections for
For the year 2030, an increase in solar photovoltaic capacities is expected to approximately 6.9 GW.
Therefore, in order to respect the trajectory of the global share of RES proposed by INECP, the new
net solar capacity to be installed will be 1,362 GW higher in 2030 than expected in 2030
in 2020.
Reducing carbon emissions, through the implementation of solar energy projects, is
