Bucharest, Timisoara, 4 February 2021 Restart Energy, one of the largest independent electricity and natural gas suppliers on the local market, successfully completed a green bond offering held between January 20 and February 3, 2021, oversubscribed and closed early after the first 10 days of launch, obtaining financing of 16,361,200 lei. The bond issue marks the company’s entry into the capital market and represents the first step in implementing its development strategy over the next 5 years. Through this approach, Restart Energy aimed to obtain a minimum of 3 million euros for investments. The interest rate will be 9%, the maturity date is 02.09.2026 and the steps for listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange – SMT will be started in the next period. The placement was brokered by the brokerage firm GOLD RING and run through the stock exchange system (BVB).
Restart Energy’s strategy aims to expand the number of customers and, implicitly, market share, integrate renewable production assets, regional expansion and achieve the goal of providing energy from 100% renewable sources.
Demand for Restart Energy bonds was high, with the issuer deciding to supplement the offering and close early on February 3, 2021. Therefore, the total number of subscribed bonds was 163,612, while the total number of unique subscribers was 105. The average investment value is 155,820 lei.

The management of Restart Energy, a company founded in 2015 in Timișoara, aims to significantly increase turnover by increasing the number of customers, but also by adding new business lines, such as the sale of equipment. Restart Energy is therefore counting on a turnover of 220 million lei in 2021, 100 million lei (+83%) more than last year. The company’s management expects to achieve a net profit of 24.2 million lei at the end of 2021, compared to approximately 13 million lei (estimated) last year.
