You have already learned from our previous articles what it means to be a prosumer and what advantages you have if you become a prosumer. Now you can choose to no longer be a simple consumer, to produce the necessary energy yourself and obtain a passive income from this activity.
We know that time is a precious resource for everyone and, therefore, at Zonetec Solar we have prepared the information you need.
What steps do you need to take to become a prosumer?
- Connection request together with the documentation required according to the ANRE ordinance, to obtain the technical approval; is submitted to the distribution operator
- The connection solution proposed by an authorized designer/installer and approved by the distribution operator
- Technical opinion connection card issued by the distribution operator
- The connection contract concluded with the distribution operator, after receiving the installation
- Making the connection, by an installer authorized by ANRE
- Trial periodby energizing the photovoltaic system by the distribution operator
- Connection certificate issued by the distribution operator
- Signing the contract with an electricity supplier
The first and most important step in becoming a prosumer is related to the documentation you need to prepare. Only in this way will you be able to actively enter the green energy production and distribution market.
What documents are needed to become a prosumer?
In the first phase it is necessary to own an electricity production system from renewable sources, installed by an ANRE authorized installer. If you choose to mount the photovoltaic kit on the roof it is not necessary to obtain a building permit. This obligation applies in the situation in which you choose to meet photovoltaic panels the sun
To obtain the connection certificate and sign the connection contract it is necessary to prepare a file containing the following documents:
a) copy of the applicant’s identity card or certificate of registration in the business register
b) the certifying certificate certifying that the legal person does not carry out the production of electricity as its main activity
c) building permit (if applicable)
d) the title deed of the building or land on which the photovoltaic panel system is installed
e) the receipt report at the end of the works relating to the electricity production plant
f) the earth connection test report
g) certificates of conformity and technical data sheets of the system components – solar inverters, panels, batteries, solar panels, etc
h) electrical diagram of the electricity production system and related connection diagram in the existing electrical system

As a prosumer, you will be able to enter into the system (through quantitative compensation) or sell (by subtracting the invoice value) the excess energy produced, to an authorized electricity supplier, with whom you have already concluded a Supply Contract.
If you are the owner of a new place of consumption and production, you can stipulate the electricity purchase and sale contract at the same time as the electricity supply contract. The purchase and sale contract may have a duration of validity equal to the duration of the electricity supply contract at most.
Based on the Sale and Purchase Agreement, you will be able to see on the monthly bill that you receive from the supplier the amount of energy fed into the grid, the amount of your self-consumption and the value of the energy produced and fed.
All electricity suppliers are obliged to purchase the electricity produced by prosumers and fed into the grid under the sales-purchase contract.
How long does the certification process take?
The legal deadline that the distributor has available to respond to your request for the issue of a Prosumer Certificate is 45 days from registration of the complete application.
If you are the owner or intend to purchase a photovoltaic panel system and have decided to become a prosumer, now you can do it. Prepare your documents and take action!
