Bucharest, Timisoara, 8 November 2021: Restart Energy, one of the largest independent suppliers of electricity and natural gas on the local market, announces the signing of a

contract worth 360,000 euros with the Avastar company, for the installation of a photovoltaic photogenerator with a power of 570 kWp.

The project involves the installation of 1,140 photovoltaic panels, on an area of 3,400 square meters, on the roof of the Avastar slaughterhouse in Liteni, Suceava county. The photovoltaic generator will produce 17.8 million kWh over the next 25 years, with a reduction in electricity costs of 4,450,000 euros. Therefore, the business investment of 360,000 euros will be amortized over 3 years.

The project covers 22% of Avastar’s energy needs and will reduce the company’s carbon footprint by 13,350 tons over the next 25 years.

Photovoltaic systems are among the safest and most affordable methods to create clean electricity for a long time with low maintenance costs. Producing solar energy provides independence, flexibility, a big drop in operational costs and, of course, less harmful impact on the environment by lowering the carbon footprint. Taking into account an average cost of electricity production of 25 EuroMWh over a 30-year period, the guaranteed lifespan of a photovoltaic system results in savings of more than 75%. In September 2021, after 4 years of development, Restart Energy launched another globally unique project, a platform based on its own technology for blockchain certification of both carbon footprint and carbon dioxide avoided from being removed into the atmosphere, as well as for direct exchange between participants of environmental attributes and renewable energy, www.redplatform.com.

Every time someone plants a tree, cleans a beach, consumes green energy or takes any action to protect the environment, they can record this action on the RED platform. After the data is validated in the platform, the equivalent CO2 footprint is calculated and tokenized carbon credits are issued which can be used to purchase green energy or obtain the cash equivalent. At the same time, a company can obtain carbon credits in the form of green tokens for its customers, through unique QR codes printed on products or purchase receipts.
